Well I just talked about how I’m going to have to start paying off my student loans come next summer, well I’ve got another expense I need to start planning for……our 2nd kid. My wife and I are expecting next July, which means I won’t be able to whack diapers out of the monthly expenses anytime soon 🙂

Personally I haven’t found the addition of our first child to really be all that expensive, really biggest expense is those darn diapers, but other than that I can say in my experience having a kid was relatively cheap. Granted he’s only 18 months old so I haven’t even begun to getting into the truly expensive time period, but to be honest all of those articles out there that say kids cost thousands and thousands of dollars a year are just crap. Granted you can make them cost thousands and thousands of dollars a year if you really want to, just like you can with anything else (home maintenance, auto expenses, etc), but if you have a solid head on your shoulders and live smartly kids really aren’t that much of a financial burden.

Anyway I hope the 2nd child is as financially sounds as our first son Jack. Hopefully he/she will keep their website updated a little more often 🙂
