		<description>I don&#039;t keep a formal budget either. I have fixed expenses that stay the same every month (mortgage, phone, electricity, ...) and every week I take $100 in cash out of the bank machine. 

This $100 is used to buy groceries, cups of coffee, beers, whatever. But that $100 has to last for the entire week. I don&#039;t allow myself to take another whack at the ATM.

Yes, sometimes I break the rules and use a credit card at a restaurant but I try to make up for it by taking only $80 out for the next few weeks :-)

I find that this allows me to keep a firm grip on what I&#039;m spending, instead of just allowing myself to take more cash out whenever I notice that my wallet is empty.</description>
