I just had to post a comment because I started feeling a sore throat coming in on Monday evening (May 14) and then Tuesday I was feeling like my throat was rawed out! All day Tuesday I tried sleeping and just relaxing my body and then I stumbled upon this remedy, tried it Tuesday night (yesterday) and gargled the 'concoction' for 10 minutes twice about 2 hours apart before I went to sleep and now I feel MUCH better than I did yesterday!! I admit my throat is still a little sore but it definitely feels much more bearable! I suggest anyone give it a try before criticizing! It helped me sleep much more sound! Although I did occasionally wake up every 2-3 hours, only for a brief moment, I fell right back to sleep and each 2-3 hour of sleep was deep effective sleep! Thanks you!

I gargled then swallowed 1 tsp. of cayenne pepper/1tbsp. of honey and 2 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar. This worked immediately and took away my fever. Thanks for posting all the comments. Yes there is a little discomfort, but not as bad as a sore throat and a fever!! Thank you again Cayenne Pepper!!

We don't have a Cayenne powder, so I tried the Cayenne Pepper(For Real). I squeezed it in the glass and then mixed it in a warm water. Adding 2 pinch of salt will help you forget the taste. Gargle it. Enjoy your Octopus face. And oh, it works, except for the burning sensation. But I assure you it worked like hell(literally).

Although I was highly skeptical, I gargled about a 4 oz. glass of warm water with 1 tsp. of cayenne and a little salt. I swallowed a tiny bit (intentionally). I failed to protect my lips so there was some burning, but much to my surprise, my sore throat was much better. By the time I went to bed last night I hardly noticed, and today it's gone. I'm shocked. Admittedly I did take other supplements, but I've had plenty of sore throats and I know for a fact the cayenne worked - it's the only thing I did differently than any other time in my life. Call me a believer, I am very impressed with something SO simple and SO effective! Thanks everyone for sharing, I had no idea!

I had the idea to do this an hour ago an I just looked it up, I know the anti-inflammatory properties of capsaicin and it works very well indeed.

As for doctor's statements, sadly I do not trust doctors because they work for an establishment that is all about forcing us to rely on synthetic remedies and outlawing natural remedies (like anti cancer agent vitamin B-17, AKA laetrile or amygdalin) this is all part of an established set of rules for countries of the World Trade Organization called Codex Alimentarius. Google this info.

Pharmaceutical companies will never look at it seriously, because even if they found it did work they'd want to extract what they've decided the critical chemical agent is, into little space-age spray gizmos at $50 a pop, while we can all get the spice at the supermarket for pennies a dose. ;)

Nice to see a remedy that works so well - and that is supported by enough of what we actually know about a plant (anti-inflammatory, etc.) to pull it out of placebo range. Thanks for post!

This makes sense to me too. I had a really bad sore throat and had to work. I found a bottle of hot sauce in the fridge. I would splash a little in and it would burn for a sec but the pain from my throat would go away for a little bit.

I'm going to try gargling with the ceyenne pepper the next time. I bet if enough people recommend it pharmaceutical companies will look at it more seriously.

Using hot sauce had a mixed reaction. It would burn which felt good on my throat but then it would also it's hard to explain the feeling but if sweet things make your throat feel worse like mine then compare it to that.

I took 2 Alleve for my sore throat but it did nothing, so a few minutes ago I put 1/4 tsp cayenne in a mug of hot chocolate and drank it and my sore throat is completely gone! I like spicy foods so the "glow" on my tongue isn't bothering me a bit, but someone with no tolerance for peppers might be uncomfortable.

Usually, whenever I feel a cold/flu coming on, I eat some hot spicy mustard or hot chili peppers. People often tell me I'm crazy, but it works nearly every time.

This past acute URI I did the very thing and woke up completely congested. After a day, the doctor stated my throat looked like raw hamburger meat.

No matter the cough drop, honey in tea, or any other remedy, none I've tried works. The instant I eat something with chili paste, hot mustard, or chili's, the pain is lessened for hours if not gone.
